Goyang - Anyang 101-72 The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Anyang (37-16) in Daegu on Wednesday night. Visitors were rolled over by fifth ranked Goyang (26-26) 101-72. Forward Hyun-Min Choi (196-1990) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 6 rebounds. American-Lebanese power forward Jonathan Arledge (207-1991, college: ODU, agency: BIG) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Goyang players scored in double figures. Swingman Jun-Won Jeong (193-1989) answered with 15 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Park Jihoon (184-1995) added 11 points and 5 assists in the effort for Anyang. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Goyang maintains fifth place with 26-26 record. Anyang at the other side still keeps top position with 16 games lost. KoGas outrebounded KCC Egis 42-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. American forward Murphy Holloway (201-1990, college: Ole Miss, agency: Octagon Europe) nailed a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side and guard Jihun Park (193-1989) accounted for 11 points and 8 rebounds. The former international forward Guna Ra (203-1989, college: Missouri) came up with 12 points and American-Ivorian power forward Deon Thompson (204-1988, college: UNC, agency: Slash Sports) added 7 points and 6 rebounds respectively for KCC Egis in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. KoGas maintains ninth place with 18-35 record. Loser KCC Egis keep the sixth position with 30 games lost. Second ranked LG Sakers managed to get a 9-point victory 97-88. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Mobis Phoebus. LG Sakers made 23-of-28 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Mobis Phoebus were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Kwang-jin Lee (194-1997) stepped up and scored 26 points, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winners and American forward Dante Cunningham (203-1987, college: Villanova) chipped in 30 points. American forward Gaige Prim (203-1999, college: Missouri St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds and Filipino guard Rhon Jhay Abarrientos (181-1999) scored 21 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. LG Sakers maintains second place with 36-18 record behind leader Anyang. Mobis Phoebus at the other side keep the fourth position with 20 games lost. The former international guard Sunh-Yung Kim (187-1988) nailed 25 points and 8 assists (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) for the winning side and American center Jameel Warney (203-1994, college: Stony Brook) accounted for 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Seoul Knights' coach Hee-Chul Chun used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The former international center Jongkyu Kim (207-1991) came up with 19 points and 7 rebounds and guard Ho-Young Jung (186-1998) added 12 points and 8 assists respectively for Wonju DB in the defeat. Seoul Knights have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Defending champion maintains third place with 35-19 record having just one point less than leader Anyang. Loser Wonju DB keeps the seventh position with 29 games lost. Suwon KT managed to secure only three-point victory 84-81. However their fans expected easier game. Suwon KT made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. British V.Islands-Indonesian center Lester Prosper (210-1988, college: Old Westbury) nailed 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and guard Seong-Woo Jeong (178-1993) accounted for 17 points and 7 assists. Suwon KT's coach Se-Woong Park used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Anthony Morse (206-1994, college: Tenn Tech, agency: SLN) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 18 rebounds and forward Hyun-Ho Lee (192-1980) added 15 points respectively for Seoul Thunders in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Suwon KT maintains eighth place with 21-32 record. Loser Seoul Thunders stay dead last with 40 lost games.
